First Parking Meters in Ruse

The first one from totally 14 parking meters was installed this morning in front of the Holy Trinity Church in Ruse. The device will start working for the clients within two weeks after its test period is compeled.
The main functions they will perform are as follows:
- Successful payment for the stay in the Blue Zone
- Charging electric vehicles
The remaining devices are expected to be located in public parking areas by the end of the year, which will make it easier for drivers to pay their parking fees. Foreign guests of the city, who are still unable to pay via SMS, could use the service if they have Bulgarian currency.
The cash and non-cash payment devices will also function as charging stations for electric vehicles. They are equipted with own security camera with a weather-resistant stainless steel housing, and will be installed in places with 24-hour video surveillance.
Employees who are currently collecting fees at the rest municipal parkings will not be fired. They are expected to participate in mobile control teams which will monitor all parked vehicles and will detect that ones which have not paid. Brackets will be placed on such vehicles and their owners will be fined.
